The previous DeWALT chargers were not as good. Not that this one is perfect, but it has some significant improvements. One of the major improvements is the design, durability and music quality. So, without any doubt, when you consider downsides and positive sides, this is a good radio charger that will do the job.
First thing you should know about it is that you should always remove the battery when not in use. This is important because the battery can go flat in not removed from the unit.
This stylish jobsite radio can charge only nickel cadmium batteries. This is its main downside. If you are environmentalist you will not like this fact.
Another downside is that it cannot recharge 24 and 36v batteries. This way, if you are a true professional you will not be able to recharge your most powerful tools.
One of its positive sides is that it can charge battery cells to an equally full level. This way you will be able to work longer with your battery operated power tools.
Many woodcrafters use battery operated tools from Ryobi and some other manufacturers. But these batteries are not compatible with the DC011. This way you will not be able to use one charger for all tools.
This DeWALT Radio Charger delivers 92 decibels. This is more than enough to eliminate worksite noise. Also, it has a great bass tone. You can even hear it with earphones on but without experiencing unpleasant noise.
The DeWALT Radio/Charger is resistant to small amount of water. This is a great feature because when on a construction site it is very difficult to protect it from the water. It also has a roll cage that serves as a good protection against unwanted falls and breaks.
And perhaps the most important feature is its weight - just 3.2 pounds. This is considered to be very lightweight. It is possible to move it around, carry it almost everywhere without feeling any fatigue. Also, as it is compact it is possible to place wherever you desire.
