After the gentle abrasion, all the dead skin cells and dirt which clogged the pores and one of the major causes of acne will be vacuumed with the use of a suction. With the use of other vitamin enriched emulsions, the skin will feel more supple, smoother and rejuvenated. Microdermabrasion will also lighten the skin as dark pigmentation is dimished as well.

Depending on the brand and technology of microdermabrasion machine that is used, the treatment process can vary. Often, acne scars can be fully cleared away after 4-7 treatments. You can find home microdermabrasion "kits", but these are usually just topical creams that will not give you the results of a professional microdermabrasion machine. Although most machines will only have the microdermabrasion function, some higher end models with have other functions like ultrasound, hot/cold hammer, BIO, or even facial steamer function.

There are two microdermabrasion technologies used by machines: crystal, and diamond. Of these two, diamond microdermabrasion machines have become the more popular. The crystal microdermabrasion machines can become messy and irritate the clients eyes, nose and mouth. Microdermabrasion has become the most popular main component of a facial treatment at the spa. Microdermabrasion can fully rejuvenate the skin leaving a soft supple layer of skin, and alleviatig fine lines, wrinkles, scars, dirt, dark pigmentation, dead skin cells, as well as accelerate tissue metabolism and blood circulation.

Microdermabrasion has become a very popular treatment for treating acne scars and a variety of skin problems. Diamond microdermabrasion seems to be superior in many ways to other microdermabrasion systems.
